What can I bring into the grandstands?


To add a new question gOne sealed water bottle per person is allowed. An EMPTY water bottle or hydro-flask type container is also allowed.




Where can I buy tickets for the event?


Tickets can be purchased at the ticket booth on the day of the event beginning at 3pm. Online ticket sales closed November 15th at midnight. Please note: There are two types of grandstand reserved tickets $35 Ticket - reserved seat grandstand access only $45 All Access Ticket - reserved seat in grandstands plus pit access Pit passes can only be purchased at the gate the day of each event. Pit passes are $45 each night. Pit Passes do not provide a reserved seat in the grandstands, they are pit access only.




Can I enter early and save seats?


NO. You are allowed to put a blanket down after the main gate opens at 3:00 pm and only save seats for the amount of tickets you have purchased. NOTE: Any blankets spread out prior to 3:00 pm will be removed by track personnel prior to the gates being opened.




Can I reserve seats?


Reserved seats via online ordering have closed as of November 15th at midnight. All tickets are general admission that are purchased at the gate the date of the event. We highly encourage you to purchase you tickets before the event as it is likely to sell out! Can I bring a cooler into the grandstands?


No. Outside food or beverages (with the exception on ONE sealed water bottle person) are not allowed inside our entry gate.




Can I purchase a Pit Pass to watch the race?


Yes, at either the main ticket booth or the Pit Gate. Pit passes are $45 each night.




Can I purchase a Pit Pass online or in advance?


No. All Pit Passes must be purchased on race day. Waivers and Release of Liability forms must be signed in front of a Placerville Speedway employee at the Pit Booth upon entry. Pit passes are $45 each night.




Can I use my credit/debit card to purchase tickets at the booth and at the concession stand?


Yes. But, we do not accept American Express.




Is there an ATM at the track?


Yes, near the Novelty/Candy booth.




I paid to park, does that get me into the races?


Sorry, no. 100% of the parking fees collected go to the El Dorado County Fair Association.




Can I bring a backpack with my blanket, glasses and headphones?


Yes, to ensure the safety of all Guests, carry-in items will be inspected prior to entrance.




Can I reserve a motor home space with hook ups for November 19th and 20th?


Camping sites for the event can be reserved through the El Dorado County Fair by calling 530-621-5860. Be sure and check out our Lodging page for additional RV options as well!




How do I register as a driver for the event?


11.18.2019: ONLINE DRIVER REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED, PLEASE REGISTER AT THE TRACK. Please visit our ONLINE REGISTRATION page to register online and pay for our entry. You can use PayPal directly if you have an account, but the page also allows for you to use a credit card if you do not have a PayPal account by using the guest feature. Please download and complete the W-9 form. Mail to Russell Motorsports, address and contact information is located on the form itself. Alternatively you can email it to them at office@placervillespeedway.com




I am new to the area, is there activities in the area that you can recommend?

Is there lodging available for the event?


Yes, we have a partner hotel with a block of rooms, camping and RV suggestions listed on our Lodging page. Be sure and check it out!




What does the All Access Ticket include?


The All Access ticket gives you the ability to visit the pit area while still having a reserved seat in the grandstand. The event is likely to sell out, we recommend purchasing tickets online on our tickets page.




What is the race format?


2019 Placerville Speedway Hangtown 100 USAC NOS Energy Drink National Midgets Format Pure Crop 1 Night One Pill draw draft to determine order of heat race selection. Heat race placement selection (driver picks which heat to participate in and the order to qualify in during a draft style event shown on Facebook Live). Qualifying: All cars qualify – 6 groups determined by heat race. Cars will qualify in the order picked by drivers. 36 points will be given for fast time in each group, and minus three points per position thereafter. Six 10 lap Heat Races: Top 8 cars inverted in heats by qualifying points/time. 36 points will be given for first place, and minus 3 points per position thereafter. Three cars - first place (regardless of point total), and the two highest in total points (total points include qualifying and heat points) in each heat - transfer to Night One A-Main. All others to Night One Last Chance Qualifiers. Three 12 lap Last Chance Qualifiers: Total points from qualifying and heat race finishes will be used to line up LCQ’s. Lineups will be straight up based on points. The top 3 in total points will start on the pole in each respective LCQ. The next 3 in total points will start outside pole in each respective LCQ, and so on. The top 2 from each LCQ will transfer to the Night One A-Main, but will not earn LCQ points. 50 points awarded for 3rd place minus 2 points for each position thereafter. A-Main: 30 Laps, 24 Cars - 1st place and 2 highest in points from heat races plus 2 transfers from each LCQ. All cars, including LCQ transfers, will use total points to determine A-Main lineup. Top 12 in total points will line up inverted. The lowest 12 in total points will be lined straight up behind the 12 inverted cars. 100 points awarded to A-Main first place and minus 2 points per position thereafter. Royal Truck Body Night Two No Qualifying. Lineups based on total points from night one. Six 10 lap Heat Races: Top 8 cars inverted in heats by total points from night one. 36 points will be given for first place, and minus 3 points per position thereafter. Total points will then be tallied to line up D, C, B, and A-Mains. Top 20 in points go to A-Main, positions 21-36 in points go to B-Main, positions 37-52 in points go to C-Main, and all others to D-Main. D-Main: 10 Laps. Top 2 transfer to tail of C-Main. No points awarded. C-Main: 15 Laps, 20 Cars. Top 4 transfer to tail of B-Main. No points awarded. B-Main: 20 Laps, 20 Cars. Top 4 transfer to tail of A-Main. No points awarded. A-Main: 100 Laps, 24 Cars. Top 12 inverted by points, followed by next 8 in points lined straight up, followed by B-Main transfers 1-4. 150 points awarded for first place and minus 3 points per position thereafter. The driver with the most total points after the Night Two A-Main will be the overall point champion. Ties in overall points will revert to qualifying times. Promoter reserves the right to add provisionals to the Night Two A-Main. Possible mandatory fuel stop between laps 40-50 of Night Two A-Main.




I can't find my email with my tickets that I purchased online, what do I do?


We will be able to check people in by their last name upon entry or we can re-send the tickets. Email us if you need us to resend you the tickets: office@placervillespeedway.com

Can I camp in the pits?


Camping in pits is permitted as long as it is in a "toter-home". Additional motorhomes, tents, personal vehicles and campers will not be allowed in the pit area.




With the power outages in the area, what happens if PG&E cuts off the power?


We have a plan in place and the events will continue as scheduled in the event of a PG&E power outage.




Will the Hangtown 100 be streamed live?
